Never Wears Out!

This is that time of the year when a lot of churches and body of Christ at large take time to wait on the Lord in a fast and pray fervently for the year. As this is being done, a lot of believers do not see the need for such or feel its all about working hard, yes while working hard is good, we must not run on our own strength because if we do we are sure to experience burn out.

The angel of the Lord said to Elijah in (1 Kings 19:7), eat for the journey is far, we must never take off on a journey trusting in the arm of flesh for it is set to fail us and it is sure going to lead to a burn out.

The strength of God never wears out and those who look to Him for strength experience a never wearing-out strength. The strength they experience is what (Deuteronomy 33:25) describes as “As your days are so shall Your strength be”.

If you bought a dress 2 years ago, by now there would be traces of it being worn out because with constant use comes diminishing strength but with the Father that never grows weary its a lot different, He says as your days is so shall your strength be. This is why you can not run in your own strength and capability, it only ends in burn out and failure.

The Bible speaks about Moses’ natural strength not been abated even at an old age (Deuteronomy 34:7). You too can enjoy this but you must first learn to lean on Jesus for strength, admit that by your own strength you can not prevail, ask Him to lead you and do whatever He bids you, never despise waiting on Him in a fast too.

By God’s strength you can run through troops and leap over walls (Psalms 18:29). God’s strength never wears out no matter the work He does, why not lean into this kind of strength today?

We have a long way to go in 2020 and the years to come, you can not afford to run in your own strength. SEEK GOD’S STRENGTH TODAY!

We invite you to journey with the Lord Jesus as you ask Him to take rest in your heart by saying this prayer;

Dearest Jesus I thank you for your death, burial and resurrection, you did all of this for me. I know I have lived my life without you in it but today I surrender all to you, forgive my sins and take over my life. Thank You for Your LOVE towards me Jesus. In Jesus name. Welcome to God’s family!

Have a Fabulous Week!

Welcome Note!

It is a New year and decade people and even though it feels like the year is no longer new yet its never too late to wish us a prosperous New year. It has been a long time here and we honestly appreciate you for following every of our blog posts. You are Highly Treasured!

This year the Lord requires something amazing of us and in the course of this post we’ll decode it, most importantly as we walk with Jesus we’d decode it more.

In John 2:5 Jesus’ Mother speaking to the men charged with the responsibility of serving, having noticed the wine had been exhausted says Whatever He tells you to do, do it! Simple statement right?

For every moment or every time we make a decision to live for and love the Father, responsibility is attached to it. It is not some sort of speaking alone but a responsibility backed up decision.

Jesus asked Peter in John 21:15-17, do you love me more than these, Jesus asked him this question in different formats 3 times and you can say Peter was beginning to feel uncomfortable about this question. Jesus went ahead to give him the responsibility of Feeding His lambs.

Love isn’t devoid of responsibility, it places you on the pedestal of being responsible for what the Lord has placed in your hands to do.

Little wonder Jesus said If you love Me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15). If there is anything worth pursuing this decade, it is to love Jesus wholeheartedly and do whatever He bids you to do.

Whatever He asks you to do, do it for that is the only proof that you love Him.

Have a blessed year!

We invite you to journey with the Lord Jesus as you ask Him to take rest in your heart by saying this prayer;

Expertrust

Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalms 20:7
(NIV)

Some find their strength in their weapons and wisdom,
but my miracle deliverance can never be won by men.
Our boast is in the Lord our God,
who makes us strong and gives us victory! Psalms 20:7 (TPT)

David was that man who knew what this scripture meant deeply, being a man of war, amazing harpist and skillful at everything he did. It is not easy for a man of war to see that war is ahead of him and naturally not want to use his expertise and professionalism to conquer his enemies.

David a man of war will first inquire of the Lord before he advanced into any battle. It is like a Medical Doctor who has carried out series of tests on a cancer patient and is still asking for what medication to prescribe when from the test the medication to be used is glaring.

I believe that one thing that moves the Lord’s heart is when by human standards we are experts at what we do but yet we genuinely surrender whatever we know to Him and ask Him to lead us because guess what? sometimes what we know isn’t going to be the game changer.

It is honestly of utmost importance that we find ourselves leaning upon the Holy Spirit to teach us. While Expertise is super good and can not be undermined, more importantly is Trusting in the name of the Lord because it is our weapon, it is our tool if we must do valiantly for the Father in this day and age.

Friends! Leaning and inquiring of the Father before we do anything despite all we know is not stupidity, it is not out of place, it only shows that we reverence the truth that the Lord sees and knows it all.

Be an Expert in your area of specialty but never let it get in the way when God is set to do things in an unconventional way through you in that field. Remember that all we do in life is to bring the Father glory.

We hope this blessed you.

You can not enjoy fellowship with Jesus if you don’t know Him and you can’t fulfill your destiny if you do not know HIM. We welcome you to turn unto Jesus because He alone saves, He died for your sins to make you whole and complete Him. Accept Him today.

Responsible Father

Some days ago I was trying to work on something whilst carrying my extra energetic baby sister who is almost 11 months. Carrying her while working meant I had to be so conscious of her movements so she does not fall or pick some sort of strange objects. Her disposition was that of someone who was unbothered, like she knew she won’t fall because I was there and even at that she didn’t understand what it meant for someone to fall from a height.

While all of these was happening, I felt the Lord tell me He is a responsible Father and that if I could be extra conscious of my baby sister not falling or picking up strange objects, how much more He (My Father).

The truth is that this truth never really dawns on us, we are either worried about where the next meal will come from, where the next rent for the house will come from or the money needed for a new house will come from or even a new car or how our dearest loved one will get healed of an ailment. I mean too many worries and fears, yet the Father says you don’t have to bug your mind I care about you.

See what the word of God has to tell us in Matthew 6:25-31 in The Passion Translation

This is why I tell you to never be worried about your life, for all that you need will be provided, such as food, water, clothing everything your body needs. Isn’t there more to your life than a meal? Isn’t your body more than clothing?

“Look at all the birds do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they? So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?

“And why would you worry about your clothing? Look at all the beautiful flowers of the field. They don’t work or toil, and yet not even Solomon in all his splendor was robed in beauty more than one of these! So if God has clothed the meadow with hay, which is here for such a short time and then dried up and burned, won’t he provide for you the clothes you need even though you live with such little faith?

“So then, forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?

Would God place you on earth and not provide everything you need for life and godliness? (2 Peter 1:3). We worry alot about many things but like my baby sister God wants us to live unbothered because He is a Responsible Father.

See what 1 Peter 5:7 in The Passion Translation tells us Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Rest! Rest!! Rest!!! Child of God, your Father is responsible.

Lots of Love!

Discernment 2

Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.” And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, “Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.” (2 Kings 5:3-4)

Last week we looked at the story of David and His men and how David was able to discern that there was gold in this men not writing them off at first sight.

The second part is the story of Naaman, though a leper was a commander and you know what that means, he was a big man. The description the bible gives about Naaman is jaw-dropping, he was a valiant soldier with proofs and was held in high esteem but his one issue was leprousy.

His help had initially been captured by band raiders from his place, Syria and it was enough for her to be bitter that she had been taken far away from her family to come be a Mistress to Naaman’s wife but then she walks up to her madam saying only if my Oga can just go to the Prophet Elisha, I know the leprosy will be gone. I’m sure Naaman might have thought to himself that “What does this househelp know?”, “Does she know the number of physicians I have met for help?” and she says if I can just go to Israel but thank God he took the step to go by orders given to him by his master.

As if to say, he was set up for a moment to push forth for his breakthrough even in the most unlikely situations, Elisha sent a servant to him to ask him to wash in the River Jordan which makes it servant 2 helping him on his journey to healing. Being a dignitary, he thought it demeaning that the prophet would send a servant to him, worse of all ask him to go wash in the Jordan river.

At this point, he thought to himself I’m so done!!!and I’m really not interested but then his servants showed up and said to him “Oga why not do it, its not as if the prophet asked you to do something great or unbelievable”. He listened to them and that was the turning point in his life.

Notice that all of them were servants and it was easy for him to feel bossy and decide he wasn’t going to listen to them but thank God that he listened.

Here are two lessons from this, on the journey to discernment, it is very and highly important to LISTEN, first to the voice of the Holy Spirit. You must also learn to listen to the voice of the Spirit in people. Never DESPISE anyone because of the way they look or who they are or where they work or even what they earn at the moment.

There is this funny statement I keep hearing and it is that if you want to know about an organization, don’t go in search of the bosses in the organization, ask the security men, the cleaners. As funny as this statement might seem, it appears that this can be really true especially in this part of Africa.

Never despise anyone, never look down on anybody, they might have answers you have been seeking. Love people unrepentantly, this is the only way you will be able to discern accurately.

We hope this blessed you.

Discernment

In this age and time, one of the major issues we are faced with every now and then is the ability to discern by the Spirit. I would link this with discerning the people who should be in your life per time.

This will be in two parts, first to Visionary Leaders and second to every believer who wants to make a headway in fulfillment of destiny.

David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there.  All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.

1 Samuel 22:1-2 is one of our favorite verses in the ministry. David was anointed King and even though the manifestation of this beautiful word that the Lord has spoken over him wasn’t there, it still didn’t change it. When He was anointed King, the next thing the Lord did after he escaped from Saul was to bring people who were in debt, discontented, people who were in trouble, facing the economic recession, had family issues and so on. Imagine if you were the one in this position, what will you do? Won’t you think the Lord is being unfair, first by allowing Saul come after your life and now bringing people who seemed like destitute to this society wanting you to be their leader.

I believe David was a discerning man, he wasn’t just looking at what they could do for him as the anointed King of Israel, he was busy surfing in his spirit how he could be a blessing to these men, he was seeing the gold in them that would wow the world. If you are a visionary leader whom the Lord has called and all you keep looking out for are ready made people, you might not be yet ready to partner with God to see him bring beauty out of nothingness in a life.

God saw you fit to lead those people you call nothing , the earlier you stay faithful with building them by the Spirit, the better for you.

See the gold in the people you are leading, Dear Leader. See the flip part and transformation that came to those who David led, many of them were the mighty men of David but not to make this post lengthy, I will put up the scripture. 2 Samuel 23:8-39.

Imagine David gave up on them at the beginning and even during the course of his journey, they made mistakes a lot of time, they acted unruly a lot of times but God gave David a heart to shepherd them, knowing that none of them must be lost because God had kept them in his care.

As a leader, call forth who God has designed them to be, sometimes in wonder that if Jesus had not called forth who Nathaniel was and had left him because he said “Can anything come out of Nazareth?’, probably brother Nathaniel would have been lost. (John 1:43-48).

Its no lie or fables that they will stress you or sometimes cause you pain. However since God has placed them in your care, be faithful in correcting them, praying, sharing the word with them and caring for their physical needs as God helps you.

Dear Visionary Leader, love the people in your care, God has given you the grace to bring out beauty from their current state of ugliness.

You are strengthened by the LORD.

We’ll continue next week!

Have a Super amazing week!

FORGET NOT

...And they forgot about the wonderful miracles God had done for them and for their fathers in Egypt.  For he divided the sea before them and led them through! The water stood banked up along both sides of them!  In the daytime he led them by a cloud, and at night by a pillar of fire. He split open the rocks in the wilderness to give them plenty of water, as though gushing from a spring.  Streams poured from the rock, flowing like a river! Psalms 78:11-16 (The Living Bible)

One of us shared a story on her whatsapp status some weeks ago about two women in her life who have influenced her greatly, one is her biological mother.
In her words, “I picked a certain habit from them that has helped me alot in life which is keeping a gratitude journal.
For example my mum does not see writing some certain things in her journal as being weird no matter how small or insignificant it might be to people. ‘You’d see things like we had power supply today after 2 months, thank you God’

I made up my mind to try writing out the goodness of God to me no matter how little because truly I realized that it’s easy to forget the goodness of God and like the Israelites grumble in the wilderness or when life challenges us forgetting that God keeps giving manna, clothes and sandals are not wearing out, water comes out from the rock for us to drink, the Lord is present as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
Friends it’s easy to forget!

When life feels overwhelming I pick up this journal and I’m more confident that God is good, it’s His nature. I say to myself, May I never forget that God is always good even on my worst days.
David the Psalmist writes in Psalms 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: He understands it is so human to forget and even though its so human we must never forget.

If there is a God who keeps doing, then there must be believers who never forget but lay it to heart to say thank you even on days or seasons they enter into difficult situation.

Friends it’s so easy to forget so write the goodness of God upon your heart, write it in a book too, sing the Goodness of the Lord back to Him.

Have a gratitude-filled week!

Nurture

A child is born, joy fills the atmosphere, congratulatory messages from all and sundry. The moment a child is born another season of STRETCH and work starts, the mother probably has to wake up all night nursing her child, you can easily see the eye bags, she is either washing the baby’s clothes, changing his diapers, rocking him to sleep and lots more. In between, she probably might catch a little sleep say 3 hours or thereabout before her baby wakes up.

All of this that the mother does is targeted at one thing GROWTH which is why the process of nurturing can not be undermined. If the Mother of the baby decides she is not going to do all of these, she would just watch the baby die.

I feel the Lord liken this to every vision, every assignment He has given us. I feel Him say its not enough to know or see that which I have handed to you, it’s important you NURTURE.

…but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3. I feel like the Lord was telling Habakkuk to NURTURE what he saw because He knew it’d tarry which is definitely part of the process and He knew it is very possible to get discouraged while nurturing.

While a mother nurtures her child, there are times the child will annoy her but will she because the child annoyed her, stop feeding or taking care of the child? Definitely No

Many of us have been in the web of discouragement when it feels to us as though what the Lord asked us to do is not “growing” or “not moving”, some have backed out of it (Stopped feeding the vision), some have grown weary to the extent losing their joy completely on it, it feels like we are doing the will of the Father mechanically because their hearts are so not in it.

The Lord calls us to one thing and that is to NURTURE, it is never going to be easy, you’d be hurt at different times, you’d be tired, you’d feel like giving up but you must keep your eyes on the prize.

No vision speaks at the beginning but at the end because it is truly for an appointed time. Just as a child doesn’t just grow up in a day or a week or a month so also it is for every assignment the Lord has placed in our hands as believers.

Friends! Nurture the Vision God has given you, feed on the word, stay more in prayer, receive instructions from the Lord per time, run with it, submit yourself to mentorship, attend conferences that will grow you in that area because as the vision grows you must grow alongside it.

Stay encouraged Dear friends for the One who has called you is dependable.

We pray for everyone reading this who is at the verge of giving up, the Lord infuses strength in your inner man, we ask that the light of God breaks forth in your spirit causing you to press deep into what the Lord has said concerning you. Amen!

Relate: Moving to Binghamton the first time (nearly twenty years ago) was a bit of a big deal for me. It was some time this week, back in ’01 when I signed the lease on that first apartment. I was still committed to working in Webster as a youth pastor through the end of the month, but my mind and my heart were already gone. I was leaving behind a decent, safe job as a youth pastor in a nice neighborhood to go live in an unfamiliar city working with an unfamiliar demographic for no pay as Chi Alpha leader for a group that almost didn’t even exist anymore.

Overlooked?

So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Galatians 6:9 (The Message)

It is easy to allow offense or grow bitter when a good deed is overlooked, it is easy to make permanent verdict to never do good just because it went unnoticed or overlooked the last time we did. Thank God for Jesus who calls us to do whatever we do as unto Him and not unto man. Matthew 6:2-4

Here is a story of Mordecai who by reason of staying at the gate heard of the coup that was being plotted to assassinate the king, he then decides to let his niece Esther know of the coup that was plotted and BOOM! the king was saved from eating a meal that would have cost him his life.

However, it feels like no accolade or even party was thrown in honour of Mordecai, everyone kept talking about how the king would have died but never mentioned the person who saved his life. Maybe Mordecai was hurt, maybe he was never hurt, maybe he just believed he did it for God, maybe something else was on His mind… Esther 2:21-23

Fast forward to later in life, the chronicles was visited by the same king because God nudged His heart and wouldn’t allow him rest until he honoured Mordecai. Esther 6

It only tells us that what is most times overlooked by men is not overlooked by God which is why Galatians 6:9 tells us not to be weary in well doing for in due season we’d reap if we do not faint.

We hope this encourages a number of us who feel overlooked or feel every good deed we have done overlooked, God keeps records and everything we do must be from a heart that yearns to please Him and not from a heart that yearns to please men.

The Lord keep your heart and may you do things to please Him alone.
