Jesus had told them He would die and on the third day resurrect. On the 3rd day they were at His tomb and found it empty, they were worried and dejected, their spirits were down and for a moment it felt like all Jesus had told them was a lie until the angel appeared to them telling them to quit fear for He has risen just as He said and was going to meet them in Galilee. Matthew 28:5-8
That news was everything to them, that moment when you feel all hope is lost and God comes through. This is what Jesus does to us over and over again, He meets us in our brokenness, when we feel we can not move on, He just knows when to give us encouragement.
You will notice that the angel never condemned their search for Jesus, neither did he say “How quick are you to forget that he promised to resurrect” or “why are you crying like babies” but he reminded them of Jesus’ word to them.
Sometimes Jesus whispers His word again, reminding us that He means what He says. That alones fires up our spirit. It’s like good news from a far country.
Like a drink of cool water to a weary, thirsty soul, so hearing good news revives the spirit.
Proverbs 25:25 TPT
Jesus gives the best encouragement, so when you are down
Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.
Romans 12:12 TPT.
Even though they were worried and dejected, they still stayed, looking for Jesus and this is really the way it is when we continue in prayer through the highs and lows. He sends his word to encourage us just as He sent the angel to the women.
This must be our posture always, Jesus will always meet us.
You are loved and cherished by Jesus.💜
