The Parable of the seed that is sown into the earth embodies the process that we all go through in life. You sow into the earth or you plant a seed however small you might think it is and you are expectant that the seed will yet become a tree or become a bountiful harvest but in between is a heart that is most times anxious, wanting to work his way himself.
Then He said, “The kingdom of God is like a man who throws seed on the ground; and he goes to bed at night and gets up every day, and [in the meantime] the seed sprouts and grows; how [it does this], he does not know. The earth produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head [of grain], then the mature grain in the head. But when the crop ripens, he immediately puts in the sickle [to reap], because [the time for] the harvest has come.” Mark 4:26-29 Amplified Version.
What happens between the time of sowing and harvesting is very important to God, in fact much more important than the harvest that we await. Note that the farmer planted the seed into the earth and he went about his daily activities which is watering it, making sure it is well exposed to sunlight and all, he wasn’t going to uproot what he has planted because he felt it wasn’t sprouting yet which is what many of us do.
He waited, the earth produced the crops by itself, he didn’t have to force it to produce and the produce happened gradually, the blade first then the head of the grain and so on until it was finally time for the harvest.
God gives us a seed vision or idea and anxiety makes us go often to “uproot” instead of allowing process have its way. Instead of watering it with God’s word, prayers, giving thanks as we see the seemingly little progress and following instructions from the Holy Spirit.
In between the season of planting and harvest is time and it can not be escaped at all. As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest…will not cease Genesis 8:22. Whatever the Lord has placed in your hand, give it time.
Giving it time means you must take a posture of stillness, don’t go about cutting corners or trying to link your way into events, people and things. Don’t try to announce your harvest when its not time, you might not be able to manage it and it might crush you.
Be still and know that God is God. Psalms 46. Don’t work your way yourself, God’s word says its not in man to direct himself. Jeremiah 10:23.
Plant whatever God has given you, consistently water it with the word, Prayer (Pray more in tongues), thanksgiving and following every instructions that comes.
God has not forgotten you and in due season your season of harvest will come.
May the Lord strengthen the hearts of as many who are fainting in waiting for their season of Harvest in Jesus name. Amen!
You are not alone!
We invite you to journey with the Lord Jesus as you ask Him to take rest in your heart by saying this prayer;
Dearest Jesus I thank you for your death, burial and resurrection, you did all of this for me. I know I have lived my life without you in it but today I surrender all to you, forgive my sins and take over my life. Thank You for Your LOVE towards me Jesus. In Jesus name. Welcome to God’s family!
